Alzheimer's Assoc. picks WS as AOR

CHICAGO: The Alzheimer's Association has selected Weber Shandwick as AOR after a three-round competitive pitch.

CHICAGO: The Alzheimer's Association has selected Weber Shandwick as AOR after a three-round competitive pitch.

The firm will lead an integrated marketing, consumer-focused initiative highlighting the group's work, while drawing attention to the threat of the disease, among the top 10 causes of US deaths.

"The Alzheimer's Association has a really robust internal team in place already," said Michael Schiferl, SVP and director of media relations for WS Chicago. "The broader integrated effort is trying to take it to the next level and raise the visibility of the association and the good things they are doing."

Account work began in mid-October and will focus on reaching active seniors ages 50-59. Creative work will be done by Atlanta-based ad agency TG Madison.

The contract on the $250,000 account will be for one year.
