CMD report shows stations’ failure to identify VNRs
WASHINGTON: A new report from The Center for Media and Democracy, titled "Still Not the News", shows that 46 TV stations aired VNRs without properly identifying them as such. The report is a follow-up to the group's April report, "Fake News: Widespread and Undisclosed," which prompted the FCC to launch an ongoing investigation of 77 stations. Both the Radio-Television News Directors Association and National Association of Broadcast Communicators have asked the FCC to halt that investigation.
