Ablack moves to the William Morris Agency

BEVERLY HILLS, CA: Cecile Ablack, former deputy mayor, communications, for Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, is joining the William Morris Agency in the newly created role of SVP, global corporate communications. In her new position, Ablack will be responsible for overseeing strategic outreach across the agency's business segments, from motion pictures and TV to music and book publishing. Prior to joining Villaraigosa's staff, Ablack held public- and private-sector communications roles including associate dean at Yale University and senior public affairs official for former Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown.

Chris Petrikin, WMA's current SVP, corporate communications, will continue in that position.
