McAdam leaves Wal-Mart for Darden post

ORLANDO: Robert McAdam, Wal-Mart's VP of corporate affairs, is leaving the retailer to join Darden Restaurants as an SVP of government and community affairs. McAdam has been a prominent member of Wal-Mart's communications team, often serving as prime media spokesman on some of the company's most contentious issues. Before joining Wal-Mart, he worked for Fleishman-Hillard, the Tobacco Institute, and on staff at the US House of Representatives. Darden owns restaurant chains including Red Lobster and Olive Garden. In his new position, he will lead the company's public policy, community relations, and brand communications work.
