Sports commentators have it right when they suggest it is time to stop the study-in-disappointment that is Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens.

It's not enough that the NFL fined him $35,000 Monday for spitting in a player's face: This guy causes trouble wherever he goes, and did it with the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers.

His over-the-top, publicity-seeking antics that used to be amusing are getting weird. Celebrating on the Dallas Cowboys' star was funny. So was putting a Sharpie in his sock to autograph a football. But slamming his teammates in the media and his strange suicidal/non-suicidal overdose of painkillers in September show T.O.'s got much more serious problems. Spitting in someone's face? That got every sports show in the country talking about Terrell all day Sunday, but not in a good way. He's taken the free publicity way too far.
