MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: Networking infrastructure provider VeriSign has selected Weber Shandwick as its new global PR partner.

WS joins as part of a marketing trio geared to increase Verisign's global branding efforts, which includes McCann Erickson in an expanded role as global advertising agency, and tech policy firm 463 Communications.

The agencies have become part of VeriSign's "brand demand team," a new integrated agency model intended to drive customer demand and company leadership around the globe. Both WS and McCann are part of Interpublic Group. Verisign's previous PR agency was Hill & Knowlton.

"VeriSign believes we've entered the 'Any Era' - a major shift in the way people work, play and live as the world moves from physical to digital," said Melanie Branon, VP of corporate marketing for VeriSign in a release. "Businesses must now respond to boundary-less consumer demands, from anywhere, anytime, over any device, and the right digital infrastructure is needed. Together with our new strategic agency partners, we expect to capitalize on the 'Any Era' opportunities."
