New York: PR Newswire has entered a partnership with Technorati that allows readers of press releases to track conversations in the blogosphere generated by a specific press release. It is Technorati's first partnership with a commercial newswire.

"Monitoring the blogosphere is just as important as doing broadcast and print clips now," said Dave Armon, COO of PRN. "It's like a live focus group online."

David Sifry, founder and CEO of Technorati, said the partnership is also beneficial to the average news consumer.

"This partnership brings the ability for Joe Public to be able to understand as quickly as possible the conversation around the story, as well," he said. "[PRN recognizing] that the people formerly known as a consumer have a [key] part of the conversation around the story is a good thing."
