Schaumburg, IL: Motorola has selected Fleishman-Hillard as its global agency.
Chuck Kaiser, Motorola director of external communications, said the firm will be tasked with building awareness for the company's global vision of "seamless mobility," as well as ensuring Motorola communicates effectively across business units and product lines to global audiences. Fleishman did not respond to calls for comment.
Billings are undisclosed. Motorola issued an RFP for the work in October 2006. At the time, it was working with several firms, such as Hill & Knowlton in the US, JCPR Edelman in the UK, Ogilvy in Asia, and The Fish Can Sing for PR and buzz marketing. The new hire may or may not affect the relationships.
"We will consider the need to review country agency relationships case-by-case," Kaiser explained.
Motorola is also working with Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher to help its media staff deal with news that activist investor Carl Icahn plans to run for a seat on the company's board. Kaiser would not comment further on Icahn's planned involvement.
