LAS VEGAS: The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino has selected Fleishman-Hillard as its AOR. The account is being handled out of the firm's San Diego office.
The Las Vegas Sands Corp.-owned Venetian tapped Fleishman to create a national campaign to reintroduce the property to the US market, as well as to showcase its evolution to both leisure and business travelers, said Della Sweetman, co-chair of Fleishman's travel and tourism practice.
When it opened in 1999, the Venetian was one of the Las Vegas Strip's first all-encompassing luxury resorts, with high-end amenities ranging from oversized suites to a Canyon Ranch Spa.
But in the past decade, the Strip has seen other upscale additions. The $7 billion Project CityCenter, now being built, is expected to feature luxury properties including a Mandarin Oriental and other chic resorts designed by MGM Mirage.
The initial program will be largely consumer-media based, Sweetman said. Efforts will focus on luxury-travel titles, as well as media in strong feeder markets such as California and Arizona.
