WASHINGTON: The US National Guard has issued an RFP for an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for advertising services that will also include public relations, direct marketing, and other types of communications.

The contract could be worth up to $450 million over its lifespan - that amount including media buys and consisting of "task orders" valued anywhere between $3,000 and $50 million each - and will run from July 15, 2007, to July 14, 2008, with four one-year options to renew.

Work will include TV, radio, web-based media, and other materials production; market research; direct marketing; lead processing/fulfillment operations and analysis; print production; placement of paid media; photography and motion filming; public relations; management of marketing sponsorship programs and tie-ins.

The bulk of the work involves development and placement of advertising, but PR work to support the overall communications outreach will include "placing press releases and editorials in electronic media, magazines, periodicals, and other media; and making contacts with radio and television station managers, program directors, public service directors, and others to arrange for public service advertising, publicity, and promotion," according to the RFP.
