Costco gets some great product placement in a recent ep of HBO’s “Entourage,” in which Johnny Drama and Turtle go shopping for Vince’s welcome-home party. New York’s Adam Sternberg notes correctly that subplots of the show involving Drama and Turtle are generally lamer than the main action. But on a show where characters consider an Aston Martin a business expense, necessarily for maintaining one’s image as a movie biz success, the 20-second exposure for Costco is surely worth more than a few 30-second ads on network TV.
