In the July 2 issue, I reported on the positive results from the StevensGouldPincus Annual Benchamarking/Best Practices Survey. Rounds two and three have just been released and there's more good news. Healthcare, public affairs, and sports/entertainment were the three most profitable practice areas, but even the least profitable, travel, showed 17.4% operating profits.
The top three US regions were the Midwest, Northern California, and the Northwest. The NY metro area alone showed 21.7% operating profits, placing sixth out of nine, and, again, even the last place Southeast region showed 17.6% operating profits.
Even Canada came in strong with the two participating Canadian firms averaging 27% profits.
So, in case you needed more proof, the PR industry is doing well.
