Burson names new COO

NEW YORK: Burson-Marsteller has appointed Richard Powell Jr. COO and Bill Rylance vice chairman, global development and chairman, Asia Pacific. Powell joins from Quinn, Gillespie & Associates (QGA) where he was MD. Powell previously worked at Burson from 1992 to 1999. Rylance, currently CEO of the firm’s Asia Pacific region, will focus on spearheading the firm’s worldwide acquisition and affiliates strategy while identifying and growing a new group of global clients. Rylance will take on his new role at the end of the year. Both will report to Burson’s CEO Mark Penn.
