Aon selects GolinHarris as AOR

CHICAGO: Aon Corporation has named GolinHarris its first ever AOR after a competitive review.

CHICAGO: Aon Corporation has named GolinHarris its first ever AOR after a competitive review.

Phil Clement, global chief marketing and communications officer at Aon Corporation, said the selection of Golin marks a significant investment in PR by the global risk management and human resource consulting provider.

“It’s a considerable escalation for our firm in the PR arena,” Clement said. “It’s derivative of conversations we have had with clients who appreciate getting data through the enhanced and credible vehicles of PR such as periodicals. It’s a compliment to our direct reach programs and it’s the only mass messaging vehicle at the current time.”

Golin will provide strategic counsel and support in the areas of branding and corporate reputation. Fred Cook, president and CEO of Golin, said the focus of the work would be global corporate reputation management and to “build a higher profile for AON where they do business. Beyond their core customers, they are not as well known as they should be.”

“When you say something like reputation we want to make sure that the company is known for the things it does best—ideas, research, innovation, and focus on client service,” Clement said.

Golin competed against two other large agencies in the final review. Clement said billings for the ongoing contract were significant.

The account will be led out of Golin’s Chicago office with additional support to come from regional teams in the UK, the Netherlands and Australia.

Clement said KemperLesnik Communications will continue to support the company’s PR initiatives for Aon Risk Services and Aon Consulting in the US.
