The number of Chinese-manufactured products that have been recalled by US companies has almost tripled since June, Bloomberg reports. According to figures compiled from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Mattel's latest recall last week brought the value of recalled toxic and dangerous Chinese goods to $430 million since June 6, from $152 million a year earlier. The total value of goods withdrawn from US shelves this year totals $1.08 billion.
These recalls are threatening to cut overseas revenue of the world's biggest consumer- products exporter. China exported $344 billion worth of consumer goods last year.
