As part of a new marketing campaign in China to support the country's national sports teams, Pepsi has launched a red can that looks very similar to Coke's Olympic-themed can, reports The Wall Street Journal. Pepsi officials say the move was made to support to support China's national sports team and wanted to coordinate the design of Pepsi's can with the color of China's national flag.
The similar looking cans come as the two soda giants try to establish more market share among Chinese soda drinkers. Both view China as a significant market for growth.
