But there are some obvious differences. In the true wiki spirit of Web 2.0, Mash users can edit each other's profiles. Also there is no search function, but considering this is Yahoo, that can't be far off.
Right now Mash is invitation-only, but the site encourages users to invite their entire address book -- so it's clearly going mainstream. And sure, Mash could appeal to a new generation of Web users, and perhaps, lure others back to the search engine. But with so many specialized networks that cater to just about every market niche imaginable, I'm wondering if the social media sphere is hitting some kind of saturation point.
