NEW YORK: Howard Rubenstein has given some assistance to the family of Carol Anne Gotbaum in the wake of her death in a Phoenix airport. Rubenstein said he provided support on a volunteer basis and that the family's lawyer is now handling media enquiries. Gotbaum died while in police custody. Police say she struggled with officers from her point of arrest all the way to the detention facility, and was found dead of apparent strangulation from her shackles. According to an article in the New York Times, Gotbaum's family is luanching an independent investigation into the matter.
