DALLAS: Tenet Healthcare, an $8 billion hospital operator, has reworked its PR structure, laying off six people and giving Public Strategies most of its PR work.
Steve Campanini, formerly the senior director of corporate communications at Tenet and now MD at Public Strategies, confirmed the moves and said they signaled a change in strategy.
"This move was not motivated by cost reduction," he said, "[but] by an opportunity for fresh ideas and a new approach to the way communications will be done at Tenet."
Campanini said corporate communications SVP Harry Anderson's retirement provided an opportunity to seek a new approach.
The remaining team in the marketing discipline at Tenet Foundation will work under a redefined reporting structure.
