STAMFORD, CT: Tommy Hilfiger is partnering with By Kids For Kids (BKFK) for the "Signature Style Challenge," intended to reveal the next generation of America's fashionistas and style experts.

The contest is being promoted through media outreach nationwide. BKFK is also working with bloggers to get the word out to interested teens that might want to participate in the challenge.

"The idea behind the competition is to demonstrate to the younger generation that they have the power to make a difference in the world, regardless of economic backgrounds," said Lon Haber, PR coordinator for BKFK, a branding and licensing company dedicated to teens. "We want to empower teens and encourage the teen community with a [productive] outlet for their self-expression and energy."

Users entering the competition are required to create a sketch of their fashion idea and provide written explanations. On BKFK. com, users can share ideas and showcase their collections. The Web site will also offer opportunities for teens to network and offer style critique.

The grand prize of $10,000 is geared to entice fashion-forward teens to test their eye for design and prove themselves as a talent in this arena.

"We're hoping to get as many teens in the country as inspired as possible," Haber said. In addition to the monetary reward, the winner will also get to spend time with fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger in his Manhattan studio as part of a "Connection to Reality" prize component.

"We... look forward to creating opportunities for aspiring creative designers to achieve success in the real world," BKFK founder and CEO Norman Goldstein said in a statement.

In addition to the "Signature Style Challenge," BKFK is coming out with three other competitions: The "Digital Arts Challenge," seeking digital storytellers; "The Sports Evolution Challenge," soliciting original ideas for fitness and sporting goods, and the "Going Green Challenge," which is partnering with Leonardo DiCaprio's The 11th Hour action site, 11thhouraction.com, to come up with eco-friendly product suggestions.
