Disney Consumer Products announced today that it would begin selling a new line of fruits and vegetables later this fall. The Disney unit will rely on the help of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy to push the produce line, which will be available in the produce aisle of stores like Kroger, Winn Dixie, Albertsons, and Price Shopper, the AP reports.

One of the new items is Mickey-shaped snack trays with combinations of celery, peanut butter and raisins or apples, cheese, and crackers. Others include teriyaki sugar snap peas, honey orange carrot coins, cheesy broccoli bites and miniature apples, peaches, pears, plums and oranges.
Disney's decision to utilize its characters to sell healthier food products comes at a time when the food industry continues to face pressure to stop using popular cartoon characters in advertising and packaging of junk food products aimed at children.
