NEENAH, WI: Kimberly-Clark Corp. has chosen Taylor to run strategic PR services for its Kleenex brand's 2008 Olympic sponsorship program after a competitive review.

Joey Mooring, manager of corporate communications at Kimberly-Clark, said Taylor will "develop strategic ways to build upon the success we've had in the past with our Olympic sponsorship."

Ketchum handled Kleenex's sponsorship at the 2006 Torino and 2004 Athens Olympics. Mooring said Ketchum remains the primary PR firm for Kleenex, "but for this particular Olympic season, we were looking to take activities and involvement to the next level."

Ann Wool, SVP and director of Ketchum Sports Network, said the agency was disappointed: "We did two award-winning programs for them, but we wish them the best of luck, and they are an important client for this agency."

Mooring said Taylor beat out "several other agencies," including Ketchum, but would not disclose how many or their names. Taylor managing partner Erin Weinberg will lead the account.

Kleenex wants to leverage the success of its Let It Out campaign, launched in January. Mooring said Taylor's ideas for the effort in Beijing influenced the decision.
