LOS ANGELES: Strategic brand-licensing firm Brand Sense Partners (BSP) has issued an RFP for an AOR. According to the Los Angeles-based company, PR will focus on brand-enhancement, new client and partner engagement, and increased sell-through at retail. It will be a collaborative effort. Clients of the firm include Dodge, Electronic Arts, MGM, STP, Sheryl Crow, and Chuck Norris. Interested agencies should have both b-to-b and consumer PR experience, and be located in a “major metro” area. Proposals are due to BSP by October 29, for a one-year contract expected to begin January 2, 2008. PR for BSP had previously been handled by Chicago-based Wheatley & Timmons. An employee at BSP initially told PRWeek that Wheatley & Timmons had not been invited to submit an RFP. In subsequent conversations with Robert Wheatley, CEO, W&T, and BSP President Ramez Toubassy, both principals contend that during business discussions W&T voluntarily decided not to go through the RFP process. Wheatley said his agency has offered to assist BSP with the process.
