This has been mentioned on a few other blogs this week, but it's just too entertaining not to mention again. Washington Post media critic/ keeper of the conventional wisdom Howard Kurtz has his own fancy blog to promote his new book, Anchor Wars. The blog is devoted to Kurtz touting excerpts of positive reviews, dismissing negative reviews as "petty sniping," and giving readers an inside look at the numbingly boring book promotion circuit.

But the most spectacularly entertaining part of his blog are the comments from his legions of loyal fans. Below are a few excerpts which are, sadly, a very accurate representation:

"Kurtz himself, of course is a 'spit in the corner of the mouth' moron, an access whore, and really not all that bright. He is a dumber version of Chris Matthews. And that is pretty damn dumb. "

"This blog is just plain sad.

What's even sadder is that you have a position of influence in our media.

Pack this blog away in amber so that historians will be able to see just what it was that went so wrong in early 21st century America."

"I still find you a detestable oaf for the way you've aided and abetted the erosion of our national discourse, but then, I suck at my job too--it's not our responsibility to make sure our bosses get their money's worth, am I right?"

And perhaps most representative of all:

"Ordinary American said...
Can you please write more about your goat-blowing hobby, Mr. Kurtz?"
