Baer named Burson vice chairman

WASHINGTON: Former Clinton administration communications director Don Baer has been named vice chairman of Burson-Marsteller and chairman of Penn, Schoen, and Berland, both of which are part of WPP. Baer will help develop new clients and provide strategic counsel to existing clients at both firms, reporting to Burson CEO and PSB president and co-founder Mark Penn. Baer was most recently a senior executive at Discovery Communications, managing overall strategy and development, corporate affairs, public policy, and more.
