These days it seems everyone is an economic watcher, a lounge chair financial analyst, an investor of some sort. Still, pop culture has seemed immune to concerns about currency value and the subprime mortgage crisis. Or maybe not. Apparently, rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z is flashing Euros in his new video instead of dollars. And there are reports that supermodel Gisele Bundchen, "the world's highest paid fashion model," wants to be paid in the European currency.

Will celebrities be buying their bling in foreign currency this holiday season? Can this have an even greater impact on consumer confidence than anything that Fed chairman Bernanke says? Money doesn't usually need a celebrity endorsement, but getting outright dissed might get people worried.
