The Weinstein Co. taps Frankel to lead corp. comms

NEW YORK: The Weinstein Company has named Matthew Frankel chief communications officer and SVP of corporate affairs, effective November 26. In this newly created role, Frankel will manage the company’s corporate communications strategies, and oversee its corporate, trade, and business press. Based in New York, Frankel will report directly to co-chairmen Bob and Harvey Weinstein. Prior to joining The Weinstein Company, Frankel served for six years as VP, corporate communications at Rainbow Media Holdings. The Weinstein Company’s former VP of corporate communications, Sarah Levinson Rothman, announced plans to step down earlier this year; she will transition into a company consultant and advisor. The role of Julie Cloutier, director of corporate communications, remains unchanged. She will continue to represent The Weinstein Company with a focus on media relations.
