LOS ANGELES: New Line Cinema has promoted Christina Kounelias to EVP of marketing, a newly created position. In this role, Kounelias will work closely with New Line’s president of domestic marketing, Chris Carlisle, to oversee the studio’s new marketing infrastructure as well its publicity, corporate communications, and Award campaigns. A 12-year New Line staffer, Kounelias has served as the company’s EVP of publicity and corporate communications since 2001. From 1991-1997, she was head of New Line’s publicity department, overseeing campaigns for hit films including Dumb & Dumber, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, and Boogie Nights. Prior to rejoining New Line in 2001, Kounelias was SVP of publicity and corporate communications for Fox Broadcasting.
