Edelman expands sports and sponsorship practice in US and beyond

NEW YORK: Edelman has expanded its global sports and sponsorship team with several key new hires, including the appointment of Mary Griswold as GM of the New York practice. In her new role, Griswold will both lead the New York business and oversee the practice nationally. Griswold brings 20 years of sports- and sponsorship-industry experience to this post, the past nine with Edelman. Prior to joining the agency, Griswold served as manager of communications for the National Football League. Edelman sports has also hired Rick McCabe as VP for the New York practice. McCabe joins the agency from Sports Illustrated, where he held various communications department positions for 12 years. In addition to the hired, the practice is formally expanding in Europe with the formation of a London-based sports unit to be led by eight-year agency exec Kate Gordon.
