Edelman's Dave Vermillion is in New York magazine this week talking about that firm's work with the Progressive Bag Alliance to stop the effort to ban plastic bag distribution at supermarkets and other stores. The group favors a proposal from City Councilwoman Christine Quinn that would require plastic bag recycling facilities at the city's largest shops. Might sound small, but a quick search shows that the use of plastic bags (or the lowered use of them) is a topic of discussion around the world. This site is dedicated to the topic and a Google search turned up all of this. I have a friend who routinely turns down plastic bags when she's only purchased one or two items that she can just as easily carry in the much more stylish Tory Burch tote bag that she's rocking these days. A little something we can all do to be eco-friendly.
