DANVERS, MA: Osram Sylvania is expanding the relationship it began with Weber Shandwick last year by awarding the agency a six-figure account to lead consumer and trade PR for 2008.
Stephanie Anderson, chief corporate spokesperson at Sylvania, said the company wants to make PR a bigger part of its marketing mix in 2008. WS will run trade and consumer media outreach, as well as conduct new media and blogger communications efforts.
"We want consumers and businesses to know they don't have to choose between attractive and efficient lighting," Anderson said. "We're investing and working on technology that delivers both."
Sylvania chose WS after a competitive review involving five other small to large firms.
WS has been handling Sylvania's executive media relations efforts since spring 2007.
