SUNNYVALE, CA: Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has chosen Bite Communications for product PR and Ketchum for corporate PR, after a competitive review.
The combined contracts total several million dollars. The move signals a consolidation of AMD's agency relationships that previously included three firms, said PR manager Brenda Rarick.
Ketchum will work on executive thought leadership for its C-level executives, including a thought-leadership effort surrounding accelerated computing and upcoming technologies, she added.
"They will help drive campaigns for our leading-edge and future technologies," Rarick noted.
Additionally, Ketchum will integrate AMD's corporate communications with its recently merged partner, graphics giant ATI.
Incumbent Bite will now extend its relationship with AMD, added Rarick. It will work on campaigns for the company's quad-core processing and other platforms slated to launch this year.
"We didn't know if consolidation would mean one or two agencies, but ultimately we are pleased with our selection," Rarick noted.
Other finalists included former incumbents Waggener Edstrom and High Road Communications, along with Porter Novelli and Fleishman-Hillard.
