TALLAHASSEE, FL: Florida's official tourism marketing corporation, Visit Florida, has launched a new nationwide campaign featuring online media outreach.
The "Sunshine" campaign features 10 bloggers, each of whom were hired to write on the Web site visitflorida.com about a specific Florida activity, including boating, fishing, shopping, nightlife, golf, arts, and culture.
As part of the effort, which will include extensive advertising, the bloggers are traveling via RV around the state shooting videos, which will be posted on both the Web site and various social networking sites, explained Leon Corbett, Visit Florida's director of advertising and direct marketing.
"Broadband access [is] so prominent, people want to watch video online," he said. "The way we were promoting Florida a short time ago was [just] through articles."
