Edelman folds its digital and online operations into one brand

NEW YORK: Edelman has merged its three digital businesses - Edelman Interactive Solutions (EIS), me2revolution, and Edelman Mobile - to create one global unit, Edelman Digital.

NEW YORK: Edelman has merged its three digital businesses – Edelman Interactive Solutions (EIS), me2revolution, and Edelman Mobile – to create one global unit, Edelman Digital.

The unit current has more than 120 global staff members and expects to hire 30 more. The EIS brand will dissolve and the me2revolution brand will continue mostly as an internal operation. When launching a standalone mobile program, the Edelman Mobile brand will be used. Otherwise its initiatives will also fall under Edelman Digital.

“Instead of having three groups competing for a client's attention, we have one with a very forceful and credible voice in the space,” said Rick Murray, president of Edelman Digital and founder of me2revolution. “The trend we've been seeing for the past two years is the transformation of communications from an exclusively traditional thinking to [one where] integrated digital is representing more and more of our client's core programming. We're hiring ahead of that because we anticipate that change to continue.”

The new division launched its blog, EdelmanDigital.com, which will include multilingual input from Edelman staff around the world. It is also planning a full Web site and events for the coming months.
