Another year, another PRWeek Awards. It struck me, this time around, how many people commented on the weight the awards have because of the rigorous judging that goes into them. I've never really participated in other awards, but it has to be said that these awards wouldn't mean much without the time the judges put into them. One judge told me he read the entire pre-judging folder in the hospital as a friend gave birth to her first child. And that's before he gave up an entire day to come into Tavern on the Green for the judging day. That's commitment. So I suppose while we at PRWeek bask in the glow of a successful night, I'd like to thank all the people who weren't paid to put in all those hours. It wouldn't be the event it is without you.
