To my delight, last night I met with PR pros who came in from all over the country. And meeting many of these professionals reinforced the fact that technology has made it possible for agencies not based in PR hubs to build diverse client rosters. I asked folks from a Houston-based marketing agency about the state of the PR industry in their city. But they really couldn’t say because most of their clients are based outside of the city, in all parts of the country. So I asked, “Then why are you based in Houston?” The response, aptly enough, was “Because that’s where we live.”
Though I would have liked to see more of a Bay Area presence at the awards, I was impressed with and appreciated the number of professionals who traveled – both near and far – to be a part of the celebration.
