GOLDEN, CO: Coors Brewing Company has hired CarryOn Communications to serve as AOR of US brands after a competitive review.

In addition to supporting Coors' in-house team, CarryOn will work to drive general awareness of the company's products and develop 2008 brand programming, said Kevin Grangier, CarryOn founder and CEO. The agency will also promote Coors' sponsorship of the NFL and NASCAR.

"We selected CarryOn based on their experience working with companies similar to our own," said Jennifer Volanakis, Coors' group manager for external communications, via e-mail. It is the first time Coors has hired one PR agency to represent all its brands, she added.

CarryOn has worked with Molson Canada and other alcohol and spirits companies over the past 10 years.

The account will be led from CarryOn's Chicago office, but will be supported by the agency's other offices across the US.

Coors will still work with GolinHarris on corporate initiatives.
