NIRI elects new board chairman, four directors

VIENNA, VA: The National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) has elected Bina Thompson, VP of investor relations for Colgate-Palmolive, as the 2008-2009 chairman of the organization's board of directors. Thompson succeeds Matthew V. Stroud, VP of investor relations of Darden Restaurants. Four new directors were also elected: Derek Cole, VP of investor relations for Allos Therepeutics; Barbara Gasper, group EVP and SVP of investor relations at MasterCard; Nicole McIntosh, director of investor relations for Waddell & Reed Financial; and David Prichard, VP of investor relations and corporate communications for Corn Products International. NIRI board members serve for four years.
