UAB announces '07 results, '08 board appointments

NEW YORK: The Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), the certification body for the PR profession, released the 2007 results for the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations: 340 candidate applications were approved for the year, a 7% drop from 2006; 287 candidates advanced from Readiness Review, a 24% jump; and 198 passed the computer-based exam, a 45% increase. In addition, Michael Tullier was appointed UAB chair and both Felicia Walker Blow and Jay D. Rayburn were appointed co-chairs for the organization. Tullier is the director of external relations for the Auburn University (Ala.) College of Education; Blow is the director of public affairs for Cox Communications; and Rayburn is associate professor in the Florida State University department of communication.
