Fox's American Idol continued to promote its squeaky-clean image with the taping of its second annual Idol Gives Back special on Sunday night at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. Celebrities that attended the event - which encourages viewers to call in and donate money to a variety of charities - included Snoop Dogg, Robin Williams, Celine Dion, Bono, Ashley Tisdale, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon, Fergie, Carrie Underwood, the Beckhams, Miley Cyrus, Eli and Peyton Manning, and Brad Pitt. The special will air Wednesday, April 9, on Fox.

Last year's inaugural event raised $76 million for charities in the US and Africa, CNN reported, and producers expect to reach more than $100 million this year. This year's six beneficiaries are the Children's Defense Fund, the Children's Health Fund, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Make It Right, Malaria No More, and Save the Children.
