Former member of *NSYNC Lance Bass recorded a PSA for the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network's (GLSEN) Day of Silence on April 25, and ID PR has been working with the nonprofit to bring attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying, and harassment in schools. ID, which began work a month ago, is "using the entertainment hook [of the PSA] to spread the message wide," said Barry Dale Johnson, senior AE of ID PR. So far, several media outlets, including the Associated Press and E News have covered the PSA. This year's Day of Silence is dedicated to the memory of Lawrence King, a California 8th grader who was shot and killed because of his sexual orientation.

[UPDATE (04/24:] Larry King will also appear in a PSA for Day of Silence. Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight has also agreed to take part in the Day of Silence ceremony in Los Angeles on April 24. "Larry King helps us reach the kind of mainstream audience he speaks to every night," said GLSEN president Kevin Jennings, E! Online reported. "I don't necessarily see this as a YouTube phenomenon, but I see this reaching a much more traditional audience."
