"We've really tried to get in deeper with our current clients, and that's represented and validated by the fact that we've had so many of our clients increase their relationships with us," says CEO Christine Barney, who adds that many of those clients have also provided additional lines of business.
Barney attributes much success to a collaborative corporate culture that supports employee creativity and involvement with company growth initiatives.
Evidence of employee input is obvious in recent programs, such as the rbb Activities Group and rbb Works, not to mention the newly renovated office, which was collectively updated according to employee opinion.
"Everyone has a voice in creating the way the agency operates and defining its culture, driving the structure of the firm from operation to marketing to professional development," says Barney. "From heavy participation at all levels [of staff], we are able to produce creative platforms [for clients]."
In the future, Barney says the firm will seek to strengthen its corporate affairs and issues management sectors.
Current headcount is 28, with a turnover rate of 8%. No senior hires or departures during the year.
The firm currently focuses on corporate, b-to-b, and consumer practice areas, with each division growing about 15% to 20% in 2007 from a combination of new business and organic growth.
Agency won new business from Lady of America Franchise Corp., AMResorts, Ritz Carlton Clubs & Residences, and GNeil. Two undisclosed losses.
US revenues were $3.8 million, with a profit margin of 27%. Retainer increases from Starbucks, Florida Power, and Language Line brought in about the same amount of revenue growth as new clients. FPL and Language Line Services nearly doubled their retainers.
