Increase in buying power of GLBT community

WASHINGTON: The fourth edition of "The US Gay and Lesbian Market" study from Witeck-Combs Communications and Packaged Facts, a publisher of market research, found that the total buying power of the US GLBT adult population is expected to reach $712 billion in 2008. This is up from an estimated $690 billion in 2007. "This analysis helps confirm what we've learned about the integral roles that GLBT people play throughout the entire U.S. economy, and remind us that our efforts are valued and recognized," said Justin Nelson, cofounder and president of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce
