The Advocate hires Renna

WASHINGTON: The Advocate hired Renna Communications to pitch the GLBT newsmagazine's online coverage of the California marriage decision and re-introduce the brand under its new ownership, which was announced in April. Managing partner Cathy Renna said the agency hopes to extend the one month contract, effective June 12, "to an ongoing retainer." "We will be pitching the editorial staff and writers on the ground to local, regional and national mainstream media, as well as journalists who are analyzing the coverage of the issue and the initial surge of same-sex couples as they marry," Renna told PRWeek. "After the CA marriages begin we expect to continue that work as it relates to the referendum in November, the presidential election as it related to LGBT issues, and other news as it develops."
