Raytheon names Blades comms VP for space business

EL SEGUNDO, CA: Raytheon Co., which specializes in defense and government markets, hired Catherine Blades as VP for communications and public affairs at the company’s space and airborne systems business. Raytheon’s 2007 sales totaled $21.3 billion. Blades previously was director of marketing and international communications for Lockheed Martin’s aeronautics business where she oversaw a network of PR firms, led communications initiatives, and served as managing editor of customer publications. Prior to that, Blades was director of PR and senior communications counsel for Neill, a distributor of Aveda beauty products.
