NEW YORK: Progressive, one of the largest auto insurance companies in the US, has selected Allison & Partners as its AOR.
The firm's work will include media outreach to consumer and trade publications to promote the brand across various lines of business, such as motorcycle, boat, snowmobile, and RV insurance. Allison will also work with two of the insurance provider's sponsorships: The Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize, a competition that will award $10 million to a team that designs a 100-mile-per gallon car; and a partnership with the Cleveland Indians, which includes a 16-year naming deal for the team's stadium, now called Progressive Field.
“Anytime you're dealing with consumers in the 2008 [economic] environment, they are really going to be shopping for the best price,” said Scott Allison, CEO of Allison. “That's where companies like Progressive will be honing in on their consumer offering.”
Allison was awarded the account after a competitive search that included Progressive's previous PR firm, Lime PR. Progressive was not immediately available for comment, and Lime did not elaborate beyond confirming that it competed for the business.
The project-based account is budgeted in the mid-six figures, and work began as early as February.
