She had been EVP and general manager for the last two years. The Canadian network had been without a president for the last four years or so. While Harris has a new title, the promotion is less about increased responsibility, than recognition of her contribution from Weber Shandwick Worldwide. “It was really about our business success, because we have almost doubled the business in Canada since I've been here,” said Harris. “[The title change] is a nuance in the Weber Shandwick network, but it is recognition of the fact that Canada as a business unit is more of a stand alone entity.”
Weber Shandwick Canada's recent account wins include Montreal-based investment management firm MacDougall MacDougall and MacTier and Kyoto Planet, an eco-conscious financial services and media company. Weber Shandwick Canada has about 55 staff, with offices in Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver.
