Harris promoted to president, Weber Shandwick Canada

TORONTO: Kerry Harris has been promoted to president of Weber Shandwick Canada.

She had been EVP and general manager for the last two years. The Canadian network had been without a president for the last four years or so. While Harris has a new title, the promotion is less about increased responsibility, than recognition of her contribution from Weber Shandwick Worldwide. β€œIt was really about our business success, because we have almost doubled the business in Canada since I've been here,” said Harris. β€œ[The title change] is a nuance in the Weber Shandwick network, but it is recognition of the fact that Canada as a business unit is more of a stand alone entity.”

Weber Shandwick Canada's recent account wins include Montreal-based investment management firm MacDougall MacDougall and MacTier and Kyoto Planet, an eco-conscious financial services and media company. Weber Shandwick Canada has about 55 staff, with offices in Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver.
