Other than on-the-air tension at MSNBC
, the big media story from the Democratic National Convention was the role of bloggers. The Democrats allowed unprecedented access
to bloggers, credentialing almost 100 national political blogs and 55 state blogs. Rapper Will.I.Am called
the event the first “batonical” convention – meaning a theoretical baton has been passed to new media. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette highlighted
the “big tent,” the blogger refuge just a short walk from Denver's Pepsi Center.
