PASADENA, CA: St. Baldrick's Foundation, a nonprofit that raises funding for childhood cancer research, launched an awareness campaign September 1. Fleishman-Hillard, AOR for the foundation, is providing support. The campaign encourages people to submit videos to YouTube of shaving events - when family and friends shave their heads in solidarity with children who lose their hair during treatment for cancer. The video that is viewed the most will be added to St. Baldrick's Web site at the end of the month. It is the first time the foundation has used a viral component for an awareness campaign.
