Burson promotes Mike Lake to chair of PA practice

DALLAS: Burson-Marsteller promoted Mike Lake to chairman of its US public affairs practice, effective October 1. Lake, whose twin brother James Lake resigned from the same position in early September to join Gibraltar Associates, will oversee about 100 employees in eight US offices and also continue in his role as chairman of Burson’s Southwest regional operations from Dallas. Before joining Burson, Mike Lake launched BSMG Worldwide’s Southwest public affairs practice prior to the agency’s merger with Weber Shandwick in 2000. He also worked as director of campaign event operations for the Bush-Quayle campaign in 1988 and as staff assistant to President Reagan.
